Horse Holiday’s ‘gift’ --to little children
Once upon a pony --a little child could walk,
Not so much to ride alone,
---but to have a little talk.
Just sitting on a pony
–with the world at their command,
Feeling free to walk the walk --and talk to God,
---and all his friends.
Gimme smooch, says piggie.
See the Big folks, playing Cowboy.
Meet
Mr. Goat, down in his pen.
Watch the puppy –as he begs to go along,
on a path--just meant for you.
Find
the kitty –that grabbed the doggies tail, so the doggie must stay off the trail.
See the
riders as they go riding past -and you wave to say ‘hello’.
If I get big, I think that I --will be in a horse show.
You
might pass those –who have no home, that slept upon the ground.
They find a home right here with us, and help us all be proud.
You might see the kitties
--that chase the mice,
--and chase the doggies too…
And then we stop –to say thank you
To all that made this day come true.
And we thank you God –for helping me
---In all the things you do.
