Started at age 8 (1948) at a show barn for open jumpers, and one saddle bred. Learned barn duties, and riding in general.  Gained lots of experience over those years, making all the mistakes, and finding solutions.  Self-taught. Later rode cross-county in varied territories, and terrain.

Bought my first horse in 1962. (shown here in photo) Rode my second very difficult horse, who taught me how to 'survive' when riding! I listened to the prodding of a friend, and almost got myself killed when my horse became a run-away.  After stopping him, and walking to the wooded trails, I ONLY tilted my head slightly, to miss being hit in the eye, by a fine twig, and my horse took off again, out of control through the wooded trail.  We came up on a tree that fell across the trail, and I prepared for a sudden stop, a sudden right or left turn, or a huge jump.  The tree was wither high, about 5 ft from the ground.  I locked myself on him, to just stay on.  He DUCKED!  My head HIT THAT TREE, and a broken branch, that skimmed my head, then hit my arm, knocking me OFF!  My head and arm were split open, and I received 150 stitches, and a concussion, and was off work for 6 weeks!  The lessons from this experience have given me powerful understanding to just how easy one can get into trouble by listening to others.  My horse went really well, before this experience, and the trauma of this experience stayed with him for years.  He was traumatic to ride after that, and my survival skills improved greatly. The lessons learned, --are the basis for my programs. and it is my heart goal the NO ONE ever has an experience like I did.  Safety & Survival are a Primary ISSUE for discussions and study.

I attended many horse shows, observed many clinics, and started my 'own' study, looking for what seemed to be 'missing' between horse and rider.

Started teaching riding in 1965, on a very small scale, as my study continued, spending years, with horses from the racetrack, hunter/jumper barns, and all kinds of horse shows, -constantly finding HOW horses & riders were either uncomfortable or 'fluid' together, 'searching' for the common ground between riding 'styles' or 'FORMS'.  I applied methods to correct errors between horse & rider, and both became remarkably relaxed, and riding skills improved.  I realized that individual tensions, and reactions caused emotional turmoil in the horse, which complicated issues for the rider. And VS. VS.  I realized 'How-to' take that tension away, and relieve the physical turmoil, between horse & rider.

The horse offers an emotional 'rock' for hurting people.  

The horse has a wonderful way of lifting one's spirits, when with someone understanding this gift. Horse's sense depth of understanding, and sought 'me' out.  They would do anything to please me. I learned to teach this 'gift'.

FULL TIME Horse Business in 1972. Working with clients, boarders, sales, breeding my own stallion, and later worked at a 'training center' for thoroughbreds, where after the initial work was done, I was given full responsibility for the ground driving,  'finishing' the horses, making them ready for riders, giving them confidence, and trust in humans.  Many of these horses were simply shipped from a pasture, without any handling at all. With my driving, they went to the track, behaving like 5 yr olds, I was told. They were impressed with the results.  Driving so many different horses gave me great insight to them, and their learning ability, and desires to please us.

Stallion Handler for small breeding farm in Maryland -3 seasons.  Learned more about the personalities of the Stud horse, and how they compare to humans.  This joy I passed along to my clients. I teach what the horses had given me, and therefore, the 'soft touch' of communication, was proving to be worthy for clients who had their own personal 'issues' to deal with.  We started working on those issues, like fears, tension, stress, --before moving ahead with improving riding skills. 

All programs geared for the individuals needs.  Many clients, found fear, intimidation, and power issues with the horse, --to be confrontational.  I would work with the clients, until they learned to turn things around, making 'friends' with the horse, --without using any abusive 're-actions'.  Diplomacy was learned and appreciated by both horse & rider. I started to see the 'melting' of two beings into one.

The 'Common Ground' became more obvious, and it was NOT what traditional riding programs offered.  We encouraged compassion, quiet understanding and a study of one's own body language.  Instincts and impulses, are the communicator to/with the horse, and our riding programs have been changing lives for along time. I was criticized as never being good at the 'BUSINESS' of horses, and teaching.  I KNEW that I was giving 'something' special to my clients, and I WOULD NOT CONFORM to the TRADITIONAL METHODS of teaching riding.  Yes, I would loose clients, and when they stopped riding, they were so happy that they learned what they did.  THIS was very confusing to me, as I was just beginning to get what I really wanted, a real good 'riding' student. A Psychologist told me in 1999, that THAT was called REAL 'SUCCESS'.  They didn't NEED to ride any more!  So, where did I go wrong?  What was MY gift, compared to traditional techniques, to learn riding.  Traditional Horse business would keep clients for YEARS, and I would loose clients. Continuing the study, I could watch what was NOT being taught!  I could SEE what was now missing.  It became clear to me, that the BUSINESS of riding instructors, was to KEEP STUDENTS, not to teach them, so they didn't need instruction anymore. I would STILL continue giving my gift.

Developed Original Program, 'Fresh Start' in 1982, to assist individual needs, I found that adults especially, were fascinated by our teachings, as they learned to eliminate negative 'life learned' behaviors.  We re-awakened to childlike trust, the loving gift that the horse respects and responds to so easily.  Misconceptions are 'un-veiled' --by our program.  

What I have learned is UNIVERSAL.  I have a program that will not alter any teaching technique, and WILL give the understanding to make any technique more understandable!  I have learned that we are FILLING IN THE 'GAPS' of MIS-UNDERSTANDINGS!

The Riding Program has remained the SAME, however the learning goes on, between myself, and my students, who learn to apply ALL the elements, to become successful at their riding dreams, and Goals!

My life learning has also became the basis --for a 'Dedicated' Program for Mental Health & Wellness.  I made that venture to find the 'Business' of --(for-profit) Mental Health, is 'threatened' by such a simple 'Alternative'.  I learned to again see 'Business' --as the BOTTOM LINE.  HOW MUCH MONEY can you make --in spite of what is really needed by the client!  I will stand by this declaration, and continue to speak the truth as I see it!  What MORE can I give, to help humanity? 

As of 1997, we birthed The  HORSE HOLIDAY INC. 501-C3 non profit, should help find the solution to help those in need...

Youth respond extremely well to our methods.

Self esteem, self worth, empowerment, and life skills are learned. The benefits of The 'Program'  --are life changing. Clients are surprised, to learn more about themselves, --than they expect.  I have experimented with our programs for many years, and the 'original program' is used to help many different client 'issues'. 

 'Life Experiences' --make the program even more vital.

In 1995, I finally realized, --that we have been De-Stressing individuals, --for years!  In my study, I realized that stress is what causes many treatable symptoms.  Our goal is to reduce the symptoms, ---before they need to be treated, --helping reduce the NEED for expensive treatment.   We help eliminate the primary 'root issue', --that created the symptoms -in the first place.

From 1995, the long road to developing the Foundation Program, as a non profit organization begins.

The lessons learned from a 'single' woman, facing the challenge ahead have increased awareness of Corporate, State and Federal work.

Determination and perseverance have become a full-time dedication.  The work is vast.

  The sacrifice of this development time, is the necessary 'gift' from 'my lifetime' --to yours..

The 'VISION' is huge, and we must meet that with a full heart, working to 'give of self' for the betterment of 'Humanity'.

THE WINTER OF '96/97 WAS--The WORST WINTER --of my life,  & ---THE TOUGHEST 'TEST OF MY FAITH' and ability to just hang on.  I was bitterly challenged, and I learned some things, ABOUT BUSINESS MINDED PEOPLE I wish I didn't have to learn.  ALWAYS --seek truth!   Learn to recognize deception!  Look at motives, of ALL CONCERNED, even those who appear to be trying to help!  WHO WILL GAIN WHAT?  Learn to look behind what is being said to you.  Open your mind to the source of your information --and please --ask questions of all parties --to get to the truth, and your desire to find the truth --is 'your test' of integrity,  and how honorable you are!

 To leave a door to truth closed is unjustifiable, especially --when that door is WIDE OPEN for you to simply ASK.  Remember to ask -and you shall receive.   I experienced horrific circumstance, followed by absolute betrayal from what was intended to be good of ALL concerned.  What I saw in others was sad, and ever so disappointing.  It almost made me ashamed to be a part of the human race!  We decided to just stand FIRM with personal integrity --to the twisted tales of greed and bias --in absolute trust and faith that a lie will not live, and liars will be sooner or later be corrected by a power much higher and greater than human!  Justice is not mine!  Correction is for wrong doers.  Strength, faith and trust WILL be rewarded, AGAINST ALL ODDS!  (heard in the spirit in 1994, by the founder)
