        1994 --Incorporated as Horse Holiday organization,    DBA --'Horses For Humanity'™ --The 'facility' in the State of PA. where we learned so much.

 

1994 --Incorporated -'Odyssey Unlimited' inc. to provide security for investors who want to invest in real estate for the purposes of Horse Holiday inc.

1996 --Somehow survived the worst winter of the founder's life.  Heavy burden was faced with misrepresentation/betrayal of the worst kind.

1997 -Approved as a 501-C3 non profit org. (January) Approved as a Pilot Program to 2 agencies in York PA: Bell Socialization Services, The Youth Advocate Program.

Programs developed into Recreational Therapy, Mental Health, and Stress Recognition & Reduction, behavior modification, and interpersonal therapeutic coaching. Working alone and still opening 'new doors' of understanding, --I learned that the National Organization for Handicapped riding, -NAHRA, had just opened a NEW branch called--EFMHA--'Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association'.

Sept 9, 1999 --Approved as a Provider Type 50, to be funded by Medical Assistance (IN ERROR).  MA stated "It seems you are doing all the work, so we decided to just give MA Approval to you". 

October 6, 1999 terminated from Medical Assistance --for an 'approved' program description.   Paperwork --must be completed, before we can be reinstated.

Application to government agencies for --State Funding, and Grants, were 'not' completed in time --to save the 'Working' Program.  It was very difficult to find dedicated volunteers until this program would have been completely funded, by government funds etc.. The founder was on 'over-load' and not being paid herself. 

 Then, and only then could staff be paid.  Year 2000 proved to be a work and financial overload, for the founder.  Therefore decisions had to be made for the closing of the Working Facility in Pennsylvania.  The founder gave ALL in this process.

 After some much needed documentation, we needed to work on the Horse Holiday STRUCTURE!

Horse Holiday org, will again work with individuals, families, and/or Community Agencies.  

We will seek individuals working in Agencies, as Therapeutic Staff Support, Social Service, Therapists Case Managers, those who work with At-Risk Youth & Teen etc...etc, who would like to continue our working program, as they will better understand the complexities as a Consultant and Coach, having a therapeutic background.   We always seek to better serve a greater number of clients.

 Non-Traditional, Innovative, Compassionate, Holistic, and Non-Clinical

The founder's 'Original Program' from 1980-2 --developed into the base of over 20 different programs for:  recreational therapy, mental health, D & A, stress reduction, re-entry programs, life skills training, team building, at-risk youth & teen, delinquency prevention and intervention…and MORE! 

The founder will continue as Program Developer, and Coordinator, in contract with Horse Holiday org. to develop new Horse Holiday Consultants.

    THE STUDY of --mind-body-brain-behavior, and positive energy flow connection --for horse or human, will remain as mutual interest.

Pennsylvania Experience:  Bell Socialization Services, The Youth Advocate Program.  MH/MR of York County, Mission Home, Bermudian Springs school, Inner city (York) school system, Lincoln Intermediate Unit, York Hospital Lock up unit, Meadowbrook, Terraces in Lancaster, Delphic Center D&A, Shadowfax, Special Kids Network, Bermudian School, Abraxys, Adams Hanover Counseling Services, Lincoln Intermediate unit.  Distressed families, who say we are an answer to their prayers, Manta, George Street Homes, Hillview Boys Ranch, Probation Department, York County, Children & Youth, York County, Case Managers & Behavioral Specialists of  MH/MR -York county.  MD's & Psychologists.  Easter Seals, and Community Service, Edgewater Children's Services, and many self-referred individuals.

FOR: Depression, frustration, depression, boredom, lack of lust for life, depression,  suicidal, aids victims, sexual abuse, ADHD, asbergers, Tic syndrome, agoraphobia, denials for both youth and adults, the blind, hearing impaired, foster kids, spousal abuse victims, rape, mental health and mental retardation, over-medicated individuals, dyslexic, emotionally blocked, ADD, emotional abuse, intimidation, Parkinson's disease, leukemia, cancer, stroke, brain injury, grief, fears due to nasty divorce, family issues -unresolved, those at the 'breaking point', and learning disorders.  And, ---MORE!

Unfortunately, the vast impact of the Horse Holiday programs were not sufficiently supported by those in Pennsylvania, therefore, we could not afford to stay in that area.   In some areas --a 'new idea' is not accepted as beneficial, until it has existed for many years.
