the search for proper location with meaning

Our 10 year struggle to find a proper location.

 After many disappointments in the 'business' of horses, and some wonderful facilities,

I decided to move to out of the area

--to get my head together and to explore 'other areas' that no one seemed to be going into.

I did not know my niche at that time, except there was more to all of this,

and one of my later experiences proved I was right.

I was on to 'something' and this was/is a path that I can not betray.

When leaving the old farm of 60 acres, that took too much time and hard work to even keep up with,

 not alone to move forward with, I had a group from York Hospital come to me.

This group of 10 teens helped direct my goal.

Dennis Darling said "Rose, it sounds like you should be a non-profit organization.

Be sure to tell everyone that you are an idealist program.  That is very important."

We moved from a worse situation to this.

We figured it would last until

we found another location.

This is where we became a non-profit org.

in 1997.

Founder background

Of course we learned the hard way that

location must be looked at hard before

going there.  Baltimore County regulations

were costly, as well as a landlord whose nationality did not like strong women.

We were there for only one year, then found the 60 acre farm just over the Md/Pa line, in York County.

I will not return there because I do not live 'in a box'.  I would do it alone first!

And so it is and has been from 1985 until 2006!
